1. Personal information items

1) Kakao Games collects the personal information listed below for receiving partnership proposals and responses thereto.

  • ・ Optional information: Nationality, name, phone number, webpage, and address of yours provided to Kakao Games as well as Q&As
  • ・ Kakao Games corporate website does not use 'cookies' that recollect the stored information designed for provision of customized service to the individual user.

In the event of any amendment in the Company's Privacy Policy, it would be made public through the website or otherwise individual notice.

2. Purpose of using personal information

Company is due to use the personal information for the purposes as below:

  • ・ Due to process the personal information provided for the purpose of request for proposal, receipt of the proposal and response of the result.

3. Period of using and retaining collected personal information

In the event of withdrawal of the consent for collection and utilization of the personal information, realization of the intended purposes, or otherwise, expiration of the retention period, Kakao Games takes measures to destroy the personal information of the applicable user without delay.

4. Consignment of personal information

“Consignment of personal information” means outsourcing a certain part of the mandatory tasks to an external entity while providing various services to users.
Further, Kakao Games manages and supervises the outsourced entity to prevent any violation of relevant rules and regulations for protecting personal information.
There is no business entrusted by Kakao Games or the company entrusted with it.

5. Provision of the personal information to a third party

“Provision of the personal information to a third party” entails provision of personal information gathered to any third party with an aim to enhance the scope of service and quality of the service to the users, even though it would not be a mandatory task for providing the service.
Kakao Games will use the personal information for the intended purposes as set forth in the Article 2 "Purpose of using personal information" and will not utilize the personal information out of the informed scope without users' prior consent. Further, in principle, Kakao Games shall not disclose the personal information externally. With the exceptions as below:

  • ・ Determination in good faith that it is required for legal action (e.g., upon request of the government or a law enforcement authority as per legitimate procedure by the relevant laws and regulations)

6. Procedure and methods of destruction of personal information

1) Destruction procedure

It is guaranteed that the information submitted for collaboration proposal shall be destroyed immediately upon fulfillment of the intended purpose for gathering the personal information.

2) Intermediate destruction

Personal information in the format of electronic file shall be destroyed completely and irrevocably, while personal information in a written form shall either be shredded or burnt.

7. The rights and obligations of the users and exercise thereof

User may view and/or update their personal information at any time, or otherwise request to withdraw their consent to providing the personal information and dispose of the information.
Should you wish to update or dispose of the personal information, please contact the below person in charge at any time. In order to process the request for the personal information and protect the same, please be informed that an identification verification process might be involved by requesting certain personal information regarding your email address.
Should you wish the above, your request will be immediately responded to upon submission to the person in charge via a written form, phone or email.
Users are not allowed to infringe users or others' personal information and privacy through violation of any relevant laws and regulations such as "Personal Information Protection Act".

8. Gathering personal information under age of 16

Kakao Games does not intentionally collect personal information from the adolescents as defined in relevant laws.
Kakao Games' Privacy policy handles seeking of parents' or guardians' consent for collection, utilization and disclosure of personal information of adolescents.
Please be informed that Kakao Games exerts its utmost efforts to protect adolescents' privacy and strongly recommends parents' and guardians' active roles in their children's online activities.
In the event of provision of the personal information without parents' or guardians' due consent, please contact the person in charge so that the information can be destroyed of immediately.

9. Technological/managerial Protection measures of the personal information

Kakao Games regards the personal information of the user as precious value, thus, puts forth its efforts as follows in handling the personal information:

1) Encryption of the users' personal information.

Kakao Games transmits the personal information of the users through an encrypted communication channel and stores the crucial personal information accordingly.

2) Protection against any hacking efforts and computer viruses.

In order to prevent any leakage and damage in the personal information through hacking or computer virus, Kakao Games maintains the system in an area off-limits from the outside access. In addition, there is a system equipped with detection and deterrence of any hacking that performs 24/7 surveillance. Further, Kakao Games puts forth extra efforts to prevent any contamination from new malignant code and viruses by maintaining the latest vaccine. Furthermore, Kakao Games continues to apply new anti hacking and security technology through ongoing research and development in the area.

3) Minimization of the access to the information.

Kakao Games minimizes the number of personnel accessible to the personal information and blocks outside internet service in office desktops, allowing for a reduction of any potential leakage of personal information. Further, a systematic guideline and ongoing surveillance are in place in Kakao Games for creation, amendment of the passwords and access authorization to the database system and information processing system.

4) Periodical educational sessions for employees regarding protection of personal information.

For all of the employees handling personal information, there are periodic educational sessions and campaigns with regards to personal information protection and security.

10. Person in charge and contact points regarding the personal information protection

Kakao Games designated a person in charge as follows for the purpose of protecting personal information, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting. As such, any inquiry from the user will be responded to clearly in a timely manner.
In the event that Kakao Games is in violation of any relevant laws and regulations of the country, users are entitled to file a complaint to the relevant government agency for monitoring data protection.

11. Amendments to be made in the privacy policy

In the event of any addition, deletion and amendment made to the aforementioned, Kakao Games is obliged to inform the users accordingly within seven (7) days from the effective date thereof. In case of any major change in the users' obligations and authorities for the same, it shall be notified to the users no later than thirty (30) days prior to the change.
