2. Purposes of Processing Personal Information

Company processes the personal information for the purposes as below:

3. Period of Using and Retaining Collected Personal Information

In the event of withdrawal of the consent for collection and utilization of the personal information, realization of the intended purposes, or otherwise, the Company will destroy the personal information of the applicable user without delay.

4. Entrustment of Personal Information Processing

"Entrustment of Personal Information Processing" means entrusting certain parts of the mandatory tasks to external entities while providing various services to users. In doing so, Kakao Games manages and supervises the entrusted entities to prevent any violation of relevant rules and regulations for protecting personal information.
At this time, there is no entrusted task and entity assigned by Kakao Games.

5. Provision of the Personal Information to a Third Party

“Provision of the Personal Information to a Third Party” entails provision of personal information gathered to any third party with an aim to enhance the scope and quality of the services provided to the users, even though it would not be a mandatory task for providing the services. Kakao Games uses the personal information for the intended purposes as set forth in the article 2 "Purpose of Processing Personal Information" and does not utilize the personal information out of the informed scope without users' prior consent. Further, in principle, Kakao Games does not disclose the personal information to the outside, with the exceptions as below:

  • ・ Users' prior consent to disclosure of personal information; or
  • ・ Determination in good faith that it is required by relevant laws (e.g., upon request by the government and law enforcement authorities as per legitimate procedures by the relevant laws and regulations)

6. Procedures and Methods of Destruction of Personal Information

1) Destruction Procedure

The information submitted for collaboration proposal shall be deleted immediately upon fulfillment of the intended purpose for collecting and utilizing the personal information.

2) Destruction Method

In case of electronically stored file, it will be permanently deleted in a way that cannot be restored. However, if it is difficult to permanently delete it due to technical nature, the Company will anonymize the information so that the information cannot be restored. Personal information printed on paper will be destroyed by shredding or incineration.

7. The Rights and Obligations of the Users and Exercise Thereof

User may view and/or update their personal information at any time, or otherwise request to withdraw their consent to providing the personal information and dispose of the information. Should you wish the above, your request will be immediately responded to upon submission to the person in charge of protecting personal information via a written form, phone or email.
Users are not allowed, in violation of any relevant laws and regulations on protecting personal information or this Privacy Policy, to infringe on personal information or privacy rights of one selves or others.

8. Technological/Managerial Protection Measures on Personal Information

The Company regards the personal information of the users as the most precious, whereby, puts its best efforts as follows in handing the personal information:

1) Establishment and implementation of an internal management plan for personal information protection :

The Company established and implemented an internal management plan that stipulates the matters necessary to ensure safety, securely processes the user’s personal information, and reviews whether the Company practices it well every year.

2) Encryption of the users' personal information :

The Company transmits the personal information through encrypted communication channels and stores the crucial personal information, such as password, encrypted.

3) Protection against hacking attempts and computer viruses

In order to prevent any leakage and damage in the personal information through hacking or computer viruses, the Company’s system is maintained at off-limits sites. Anti-hacker intrusion detection and deterrence system is performing round the clock surveillance, and latest anti-virus program is in place to shield against new malignant codes and viruses. Furthermore, the Company continues to apply new anti-hacking and security technology through ongoing research and development in the area.

4) Minimization of the access to the information :

The Company minimizes the number of personnel accessible to the personal information and blocks connection to outside internet services from the access PCs to reduce the potential for leakage of personal information. Furthermore, a methodical guideline and persistent surveillance are in place for creation, amendment of the passwords for and access authorization to the database system and information processing system.

5) Regular employ training programs on personal information protection :

For all of the employees handling personal information, periodic educational sessions and trainings are performed on personal information protection and security.
